Text: What a disaster
1 How did the problem occur?
There was a ship called the Rene and it crashed and oil came out of the ship.
1300 containers with food also fell off.
What happened to the things that came off the ship? Oil came out it spilled out of the ship
Why was it a problem that the oil spilled and the containers washed up?
The food became rotten and they smelt like a rubbish tip and twenty thousand sea bird
were killed from the oil.

Hi Madhi
ReplyDeleteIt makes me feel very sad to think that 20,00 sea birds were killed by the oil spill. I agree I think we need to look at far cleaner energy sources and reduce our use of oil. I think I remember reading they used sheep wool on the surface of the water in their attempts to soak up more oil?
I wonder what other ideas people have used around the world to help clean up other water related environmental distaster?
thank you from your feed back miss Bunting

ReplyDeleteGreat work this week Mahdi, you've made a really good effort in answering the questions. I found an interesting article about cleaning up oil spills so I thought I'd share it with you. https://www.dw.com/en/oil-spill-disasters-at-high-sea-what-can-we-do-to-prevent-environmental-damage/a-48095315.
